Geisa Fabrics receives the ISO 17299-2:2014 certificate
The launch of the Nature Fresh product line heralds a watershed in the evolution of Geisa Fabrics. Thanks to these fabrics we further our commitment to looking after the environment without foregoing the purpose of manufacturing products with peerless features that can be used in highly-demanding garments such as sport and work gear.
One of the most highly-valued properties of the fabrics used to make this type of garments is their ability to get rid of body odour. We wanted to dispense with silver ions, which are effective but also harmful to aquatic animals, so how could we achieve an anti-body odour treatment in the Nature Fresh fabrics? The solution we hit upon was to develop a method to get rid of the two causes of body odour: ammonia and acetic acid.
The AQUILES NATURE FRESH fabric was the first one in which we had anti-odour properties tests in textile products performed by an independent agency. As a result, the Geisa Fabrics method was validated with exceptional results: it reduces ammonia and acetic acid by 81% and 80%, respectively.
These outstanding results earned the AQUILES NATURE FRESH fabric the ISO 17299-2:2014 certification, which determines deodorant properties in fabrics. The minimum requirement for the award of this certification is a 70% reduction in the substances that cause body odour, meaning that it is safe to say that our product passed the test with flying colours.
The AQUILES NATURE FRESH is a single piqué fabric with a grammage of 180 g/m2, manufactured in 100%-recycled polyester and featuring permanent anti-odour properties. It is manufactured in fluoride red and dark navy blue and will also be available soon in fluoride yellow.
