We had two objectives in mind: to uphold Geisa Fabrics’ commitment to the environment, while honouring our guarantee of providing technical characteristics and comfort. This has given life to Nature Fresh, a product endorsed by the GRS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifications.
The Nature Fresh fabrics are part of our Geslife recycled products line. These fabrics are made from polyester obtained from recycled plastic bottles, and naturally they can be recycled at the end of their service life. But the most outstanding feature of these fabrics is the method that we have used to fight body odour, i.e. that unpleasant “smell of sweat”.
The standard solution used for this type of odour is based on the silver ions on account of their antibacterial effect. It is an effective method, although the downside is that silver is a metal that is harmful to aquatic organisms. This is why our Nature Fresh products feature a different and environmentally-friendly anti-odour mechanism.
This mechanism acts directly upon the “culprits” of the body odour caused by sweat: ammonium (a gas) and acetic acid. On the one hand, the Nature Fresh fabric yarn comprises a structure of micropores that absorb the acetic acid. Moreover, the hydrogen ions encapsulated in the yarn neutralise the ammonium.
In terms of features or characteristics, Nature Fresh is a line of highly-resistant fabrics with a low shrinkage percentage. They are breathable and quick-drying, and their finish makes them feel pleasant and soft to the touch.
